Improving spray application is a crucial element to Crop Protection success
As part of our commitment to continual improvement across our business the Crop Protection Team attended an in-house training workshop on 26th April led by the Agricultural Mechanisation Consultant Bill Basford. The workshop reviewed current spray application methods, and measured the outputs and coverage of a range of nozzles including some that are generally not used within horticulture, being more often seen within agriculture.
Walberton Nursery Technical Manager Dave Hide commented, “As expected the best coverage was delivered using a boom sprayer but rather surprisingly, though also very pleasing, the best results were delivered from the current configuration of the boom sprayer, using F80 yellow flat fan nozzles at 3bar pressure. What we all took away from the day was a commitment to continue testing our equipment and in particular, looking at new nozzle types with a view to improving performance.”
We would like to thank all those who attended the very successful day, in particular Bill Basford who brought so much new knowledge and Growtrain who facilitated the course.
