Records broken at Binsted Strawberry Fair
This year’s Binsted Strawberry Fair was the most successful ever! More people came than ever before, about 1200 including children, and more money has been raised for the charities than ever before – over £7,000. This was a fantastic result – and the contributions from Tristram Plants nurseries were enormous
Binsted, Walberton and Fleurie nurseries raised £2,837.50 for the Fair’s charities by donating plants grown at the production sites, that’s about 40% of the total amount raised by the Fair. This was more than our plants have ever raised before, thanks to the addition of Fleurie Nursery’s donations. This year’s charities benefiting from the fundraising are, repairs to Binsted’s 12th century church, and the Arun Countryside Trust.
The Fair Committee thank Tristram Plants nurseries, staff, families and friends for all the other kinds of sponsorship provided as well as plants – the facilities, the preparation, and the help of our volunteers. Huge thanks go to everyone involved.
People were delighted by the quality of the Tristram Plants nurseries’ donated plants and by friendly advice received from the plant experts on hand. And thanks to Pat who did a brilliant job managing a great team of traffic helpers from Ford Prison, as they all coped unflappably with hot motorists keen to get in and out. A really great showing by our Tristram Plants team; huge thanks to everyone.
