The sun shines at last on Nursery Charity Plant Sale
Binsted and Walberton Nurseries held a charity plant sale on Saturday 21st July in support of the Binsted Srawberry Fair charities, following the fair’s cancellation due to a waterlogged carpark the previous weekend.
The rescheduled plant sale took place on Saturday morning when Walberton Nursery threw open its doors to the gardening public at large, providing local residents and Strawberry Fair regulars alike with the opportunity to purchase from a range of the very best garden centre plants grown by both nurseries. David Tristram expressed the thanks of the Strawberry Fair Committee to all those who came together at short notice to make the plant sale such a success.
“We were all very disappointed when we had to cancel this year’s Strawberry Fair but we were determined to find a way of
supporting our local charities. I would like to thank everyone involved in raising almost £1250 in two hours from our plant sale which will enable us to continue supporting St Wilfred’s Hospice, Friends of Binsted Church and the Walberton Preschool Play Centre”.
