BOPP – Walberton and Binsted are both accredited members of BOPP (British Ornamental Plant Producers). Accreditation assures suppliers of the high standard of professionalism under which both businesses operate, that each business is legally compliant and each conform to industry best practice. Both Binsted and Walberton have been an accredited members since 2004
Fleurie Nursery – Fleurie grows perennials and patio and seasonal annuals including Summer Patio Plants, Fuchsias and Geraniums, Sweet Peas and Erysimums.
Grow Careers – is a great source of horticultural career information, and both Binsted and Walberton get involved in local events to encourage young people into horticulture
HTA – Walberton and Binsted are both members of the HTA (Horticultural Trades Association), which gives the businesses access to market leading research, events and conferences
IPPS – Both businesses, and some individual staff members, are members of the IPPS (International Plant Propagators’ Society), which gives us global links to professionals in plant production and horticultural research. Walberton frequently put staff members forward for the IPPS 6 Pack Award, which gives young horticulturalists the opportunity to attend and help out at IPPS Conferences
LEAF – Binsted and Walberton both became members of LEAF in 2016. LEAF stands for ‘Linking Environment And Farming’, and as is demonstrated on our Environment & Community page, both businesses place a high value on protecting our environment in all activities we undertake, and ensuring sustainability is key to everything we source
NFU – The NFU is a stalwart of British farming and agriculture, having been in place since the early 1900s, but also extends to other sectors such as ornamental horticulture. Both businesses are members, which gives them access to specialist advice, and the opportunity to feed back on NFU policies in horticulture
Perennial – Walberton are Bronze Partners of Perennial, the UK’s only charity dedicated to helping people who work in horticulture when times get tough. We know that some of our staff members have been helped directly by this worthwhile charity
Southern Growers Club – Walberton and Binsted staff are both involved in the Southern Growers Club. This club brings together people from different streams of production horticulture in the local area, arranging visits, talks and seminars on different topics
Star Plants– Star grows shrubs, climbers, perennials and soft fruit; including Dianthus, Lilies and Strawberries.
Toddington Nurseries –Toddington grows perennials bedding and pot plants including Cyclamen, Osteospermums, Annual Packs and Foxgloves.
West Sussex Growers Association – Both businesses are members of the WSGA which is a specialist horticultural branch of the NFU. Binsted and Walberton have the opportunity of attending local events and having their say in matters that influence NFU policies in horticulture
YoungHort – Binsted and Walberton are firm believers in fostering interest in Horticulture as a career path, to ensure that our industry has a future supply of capable managers and technologists. We support YoungHort because they are closely aligned with our philosophy, and we have already hosted YoungHort members from both the UK and Australia
