Top Marks for Tristram Plants
For our Compliance Team much of the summer is spent focusing on horticultural and environmental audits. This year’s results could not be higher, each nursery scoring full marks across our OHAS (formerly BOPP – I’ll hyperlink this) and LEAF audits, despite working to a new and improved OHAS scope.
Many of these improvements are designed to align the standard with the Plant Healthy scheme (I’ll hyperlink this bit). The OHAS scheme previously encompassed health and safety, sustainability, efficiency, and general business best practice and now also incorporates a higher emphasis on biosecurity and plant health. This is something we have always put at the forefront of what we as growers, seek to achieve, so we welcome its incorporation into the new standard. Customers of all Tristram Plants nurseries can be confident that in maintaining our yearly OHAS accreditation, all businesses will be adhering to frequently updated plant health criteria as part of their day to day activities.
Joining Binsted Nursery a year ago, and having worked in compliance for many years, it is great to be a part of Tristram Plants, where everyone plays their part in the audits. I have always felt that reaching and maintaining the highest standards is all about teamwork, something Tristram Plants displays within and across each of our three nurseries.
The Compliance Group is already planning the next round of internal audits for the autumn. No time for rest, there are standards to keep!
