Walberton Nursery shows its support to ‘Perennial’ by becoming a partner
Perennial is the national charity for those who work in, or have worked in horticulture, helping those in need when they face challenging times. We wanted to show our support to this historic institution and to horticulturalists all over the UK by becoming a Bronze Partner.
Perennial, known until recently as the Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society, is in the midst of celebrating its 175th year, something that has been well documented in the trade press….what an achievement! Perennial’s vision is to be the automatic first port of call for people in need in (and formerly in) horticulture and with employees all over the UK, not just in our industry, feeling the pinch we accepted an invitation from Perennial to give a staff talk at Walberton Nursery.
The talk gave our employees an overview of the confidential help that Perennial offers, and we know that staff found this a valuable opportunity. The help ranges from financial help and support to advice on benefits and training bursaries, so it really does cover a broad range of services. Although we may never truly know, we hope that someone somewhere will benefit from our involvement in the Charity!
